'All About Steve' is a romantic comedy about a female crossword puzzle compiler who obsessively follows a TV news cameraman with whom she once shared a blind date in the belief that they are destined to be together. It was passed '12A' for moderate sex references.
This moderate sex references include a scene where a woman throws herself at a man in his car on their first date and removes her top to reveal her bra, a double entendre about the man "coming" as he takes a phone call summoning him to a job, a scene showing a camera framing a close-up of a woman's cleavage during a news report, clearly comic interchanges between a woman and a male truck driver where she warns him not to rape her and subsequently thanks him for not doing so, a man light-heartedly asking another man whether he "banged" a fireman and receiving a negative response and a scene when a man tells another man who is wearing a wig and moustache disguise that he looks like a retired porn star. However, the references are neither crude nor frequent and are often oblique or euphemistic rather than graphic or descriptive, so they are permissible at '12A'. 'All About Steve' contains some mild language including 'shit', 'bullshit', 'ass', c'rap', 'son of a bitch', 'asshole', 'Jesus', 'balls', 'God', 'Christ'. There is also a scene of mild comic violence when a man punches a work colleague in the face the man is subsequently accidentally struck in the mouth by his TV camera and an innocuous mild verbal drug reference during a non-promotional exchange between two characters about prescription medication.
