Extended Classification Information
'Astro Boy' is an animated film about a robot clone, rejected by his maker, who makes friends with humans and robots alike to find his place in the world.  The film contains mild fantasy violence.

There are many scenes of mild fantasy violence in the film as Astro Boy battles several other enemy robots using laser fire and other fantasy weapons that are parts of this body.  In most cases, Astro Boy triumphs over his enemies, including those that have circular saws for hands, but in some scenes he is seen to be hurt or knocked out, especially when he is repeatedly zapped with an electric cattle prod.

The film also contains some scenes that very small children might find upsetting as Astro Boy is rejected by his father, Dr Tenma – a situation which isn't resolved until near the end of the film.

The film also contains some very mild language, including 'butt' and 'god'.

'PG' stands for Parental Guidance. A 'PG' film should not disturb a child aged around eight or older. However, parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger or more sensitive children.
