Extended Classification Information
'Alice In Wonderland' is a retelling of the classic children's fantasy story.  The film contains moderate fantasy violence.

The strongest sequence of violence shows Alice fighting the dragon-like Jabberwocky.  Although the creature looks scary, Alice remains calm, courageous and resourceful throughout the encounter rather than frightened.  Additionally, the sequence is broken up by other material,  including comedy elements, and occurs within a surreal fantasy context.  When the Jabberwocky is finally killed, there is no spray of blood, even when Alice slices its head clean off. In another scene a mouse uses a tiny sword to remove the eye of a monster. Although unexpected, there is no bloody detail shown on screen.

There are several sequences in the film showing Alice under threat from various creatures, but each time she manages to escape and things are quickly and reassuringly resolved.  After fighting a creature called the Bandersnatch, Alice has some large bloody scratches on her arm for the rest of the film.  They look quite realistic but Alice does not seem to be in pain and there is no dwelling on this injury detail.

This film also contains some mild language as the Red Queen is referred to several times as 'bloody big head'.

'PG' stands for Parental Guidance. A 'PG' film should not disturb a child aged around eight or older. However, parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger or more sensitive children.

The film is also available in 3D and some younger children may find this a more intense experience.
